Yo... it's TI

It still amazes me in the world of innovative technology companies who significantly simplified eCommerce and standing up a website (Shopify, Webflow, GoDaddy, etc) it took PRC Dan almost half a presidency to get the site stood up. What is even more amazing is the fact I am finally getting a chance to do what I wanted to do for OTM, which was not make stupid ass videos, but write.

My name is Tavis, like Travis with no R, but in the world of OTM and its 20-30 rabid followers I go by TI. I have been a sports fan and more specifically a right side of the Bay Bridge (sorry, Oakland) fan my entire life. Despite almost being 30, I still am overly emotionally invested in the success of the 49ers, Sharks, Warriors, and I guess Giants.

While there have been many wins/celebrations along the way as a Bay Area fan in the last decade (the Giants improbable dynasty, the Warriors becoming arguably the greatest team ever) there also has been a lot of heartache. My main focus at OTM and main focus for blogging is going to be writing about the 49ers.

I was born too late to relish in the "glory days" as they are often described. My entire fandom has been dominated by firing Marriucci for no reason, John York running the 49ers into the ground, Mike Nolan challenging a made field goal (LOL), a handful of heartbreaking playoff defeats, Kyle Shanahan being arrogant in the face of defeat, etc. All these are topics for another blog another day.

If you have continued to read this far I am pleasantly surprised/impressed. Growing up I always thought I would have a job centered around sports. However, boyhood dreams slowly gave way to the reality of bills, questionable hobbies, and a champagne taste with a Pepsi budget. So, I plan to blog as much as possible when I am not busy cold calling and getting doors (figuratively) slammed in my face. This will be a nice escape from my responsibilities which we all need from time.

Before we go much further though, I want to lay some foundation for what to expect from my writing:

  • I am a seller not a speller. If someone wants to pay for Schoolhouse Rock for me, I would take it... seriously. There's going to be typos and grammatical errors but honestly, I don't care
  • I hate statistics, they are worthless. You can shape numbers anyway you like. Common sense and the eye test are the only things that should ever be used in a sports discussion. If you are looking for ESPN like rat poison/garbage talking about Stephs PPG or Brock Purdys YPA, go elsewhere because you wont get that
  • No matter how much I love my teams, I will keep things real and am not afraid to call them out, I think we need more of that. These guys are athletes who make millions of dollars after all.

Anywho, as far as what to expect moving forward you can expect lots of content around the my teams, gambling and horse racing, and me occasionally ripping on Dan. On the subject of Dan, in his mission to control and moderate content and silence my voice, he probably wants me to have him review this. Guess what, I don't care and he made me an admin so:
