We are ALL San Jose Sharks Tonight as they go for Their First Win of the Season Against the Philadelphia Flyers

The San Jose Sharks have not had a great start to their '23-24 campaign. Going into tonight's game, they have been outscored 55-12 this season, including giving up 10 goals in each of their last two games... EACH! As a guy who knows a thing or two about successful hockey, being from Massachusetts, watching the Bruins win it all in 2011, and having used to sneak onto the pond hockey rink at Dedham Country and Polo Club by Mac Jones' house, here is my best advice to the hometown SJ Sharks headed into tonight's game: pucks and bodies to the net.

That's about all I got... and I stole that one from a friend of a friend who I used to party with at Stonehill College in 2012 who played hockey but knew very little of most things. So while I may not be a huge hockey X's and O's guy, I do know a thing or two about pride, dignity, human sovereignty, and Bay Area sports. And this is what the Sharks need to hear:

Boys... tonight is not about the X's and O's, or the gameplan, or the strategy - hockey is not NFL football - it's not about the line changes, it's not about the lack of buy in from ownership, it's not about the Joe Thornton trade all those years back, it's not about the fact that the team has very cool and unique jerseys, it's not about the fact that the Vegas Knights are a significantly better franchise after only existing for six years and already have a Cup victory, it's not about all those veteran players sent back to the AHL less than 10 games into the season, it's not even about the Philadelphia Flyers - it's about not getting relegated as an NHL franchise moving forward. As a Bay Area transplant, with over eight years in this wild place we call California, I have eaten with you at San Pedro Market, taken in the electricity by Santana Row, and celebrated with you after you took Game 1 of the 2019 Western Conference Finals against the St. Louis Blues while being simultaneously pleasantly surprised with how many Mexican fans you all have were getting hype that night. So tonight... is for pride, is for your city, because tonight... we are all sharks! Let's go and win a damn hockey game!
