Why Didn't the University of San Francisco Pro-Palestine Encampment Want to Speak? OTM Investigates.

VIDEO DESCRIPTION

Part 2 of our encounter with the USF encampment protesters - written form on the blog, video form here (copy from Youtube:

Last month when driving back from Half Moon Bay, the OneTake Crew simply planned to grab a burrito, get a few espresso martinis at Balboa Cafe, and call it an evening. But while passing by the University of San Francisco on Fulton Street, we saw a large group of tents from the street - was this some sort of end of the year Woodstock style gathering? Spring weekend? The party of the century? We knew we had to investigate.

What we were hoping to be an electric vessel of passion, energy, and dialogue turned out to be quite the opposite - a thwarted attempt to tell a story. The goal was to talk with the protesters and learn why they were out there, what their aim was, what was the long term vision, etc. This may not have been out most successful bout of Capital J journalism but we were able to learn more about the Palestine Protesters after the fact, though they did not really want to speak with us at the time of this filming. Why? Not exactly sure - that was their right, but as was discussed in the video, one would think if they had an issue they were impassioned about, they may want to speak on it. Sometimes what folks don't say ends up telling an even more compelling story...

We wrote more of an in depth breakdown of the events on the blog: https://onetakemedia.com/protesters-take-over-the-university-of-san-francisco-onetake-media-investigates/

This was originally filmed in early May and by the third weekend of the month, the encampment was completely gone. Still so many questions to be had on how this was organized - perhaps someday we will learn the truth, but in the meantime here was the relatively uneventful gathering from last month.
