The Boston Celtics are back on the mountain top as the top team in the NBA, the greatest franchise in the NBA, and one of, if not the best, program in all of professional sports (more on that later).
The team completed a dominant playoff run tonight with a gentleman's sweep of the popular pick to win Dallas Mavericks and really demolished them over the course of 5 games - even toying with them a bit after losing in game 4 and giving them a bit of life only to come back and win it all at home.
Jrue Holliday got cooking early with Tatum finding him underneath, Jayson got going (thought he deserved MVP after tonight and Game 3, not sure how they chose it), Irving and Doncic were firing up brick after brick for Dallas all night, this happened:
It was all awesome... whether you were in the Garden of 3,000 miles away watching it on your Dell monitor at your 2+ person media company headquarters.
Has there been a better run in the history of professional basketball? 16-3 is more than a stellar record, it's dominant. Only other one I can think of off the top of my head is the 1983 Sixers run, where Moses Malone was quoted as predicting 3 sweeps with his 'Fo, Fo, Fo' quote (paraphrasing) to which he almost lived up to the bill - pretty sure they had a 5 gamer in there against Bird and the Celtics. I have not done the requisite research to make this claim, but I am sticking with it being one of the great runs in NBA history - and Joe Mazzulla with one of the great coaching performances we've seen as well, outclassing folks with much more experience in Rick Carlisle, Erik Spoelstra, and Jason Kidd. When I have the brain power tomorrow/later today I will go about writing a proper blog... but in the mean time I was busy making this video a handful of folks will watch with the help of Producer Reese:

Glad to spread the love of sports success to a few other nice towns from Denver to Kansas City in recent years - Boston still reigns supreme.
