The Celtics continued their violent momentum swing to dominance over the Heat on Thursday night as they delight the TD Garden with a 110-97 blowout that may as well have been a 35 point game.
Derek White was money from 3 (including this 1st quarter buzzer beater), Marcus Smart was outstanding with 23 points on 4/6 from 3, big dogs did their job, and Grant Williams contributed once again with solid minutes off the bench. Defense turned to offense, straight doggin' it! Love to see the Celts when they are flowing and not playing tentative. If you are getting a near 50 points combined from Smart and White, Celtics are winning the title.
Miami looks gassed... like I wrote after game 4, completely out of juice. Caleb Martin only one really threatening, and Highsmith was solid off the bench, credit to him... Gabe Vincent was missed, and I don't see him coming back to his normal self before the end of the series. Tyler Herro getting rushed back into the lineup?! Could be - Love and Lowry have very little left in the tank, could be time for the old dogs to hang it up after outstanding careers, respectively.
Game of the year this Saturday - Jimmy Butler is going to go hard in the paint, and the Celtics are going to get Miami's best damn shot. Miami better get it done at home because the Heat may as well not get on the plane if this ones is coming back to Boston.
Schilling bloody sock game upcoming, prediction: Malcolm Brogdon will likely be a key contributor to game 6 - he has been essentially inactive these last two games with a forearm injury, but he will come in and play some important minutes Saturday down the stretch and hit a big shot or two. Johnny Damon will lead off Game 7 with a home run and the rest will be history... unbelievable, glad to be a part of this incredible run all the way out in California. Credit to me once again for the reverse jinx of the century - never a doubt, first one to equate this team's potential to that of the '04 Sox.
