Fellas, this needs to be addressed #shortkingspring

I’ve seen a slew of videos like these over the past couple weeks and since we are now officially in Short King Spring, it would simply be wrong not to address them. Basically my algorithm has been favoring videos of short dudes in bars and the shenanigans that they’re up to. For this article, I picked my favorite 3 videos (within this category) to editorialize upon. This is quite a different type of editorial than I am used to writing, but if I find it enjoyable I may possibly do more like it, in the future.

First up, we have a TikTok featuring a hefty looking bro, attempting to talk to a babe at a bar counter. The first one to three seconds may have you confused, because this guy looks like a pretty normal sized person. He’s got some nice lettuce in the back, and even has a pretty solid beard. Then the camera pans to the lower half of his body, where we all discover that he has boosted himself nearly nine inches off the ground by standing on the base of a barstool. We don’t know if the babe is aware of this or not, but it doesn’t seem to phase her. Would I ever try this move myself? Probably not. It could be funny to do it jokingly, but if you’re actually trying to create the illusion of being taller by doing this, it doesn’t seem very practical.

Next up, we got a Youtube Short here of another dude in a bar, trying to game up a babe. Right off the bat, you may notice he’s trying to use the classic tippy-toe trick. This isn’t really doing much for him, because at most he’s probably gaining an extra two or three inches. What’s really crazy to me though is that the girl he’s talking to isn’t even much taller than him. However, this could be the exact reason why he pulled this trick out of his back pocket. Personally, based off of the video, I think he’s trying to be sly about it. However, once again, I must say this is not a very practical tactic for us short guys. You’re gonna lose those extra couple inches when your feet start hurting and then the babe you're with is gonna wonder how you shrunk all of the sudden.

I saved the best for last here. This TikTok is very similar to the first video I went over, as we see another short dude standing on a barstool, talking to a babe in a sports bar. However, what separates this video from the other two, is that his technique actually seems to be working. Judging by what I see in the video, he is doing this jokingly and the babe that he is talking to notices what he is doing (I mean it's broad daylight, I don't know how you wouldn't notice). This is kind of what I brought up earlier. By not executing this in a sneaky way, but rather in a clear manner to poke a little fun at yourself (but not in a demeaning way), this method could actually prove to be somewhat practical. I mean clearly it’s kind of working, as you can see the babe is laughing at whatever our short king is saying.

This has been an update in what has been going on in the world of short dudes. To all my short kings, keep hitting those bicep curls and chest presses, and remember to eat 6 meals a day.

Happy Short King Spring,

Producer Reese
